Cochrane for Policy

We are making research (and in particular systematic reviews) more accessible to health system managers and policymakers.  We are doing this by:

  • Contributing to efforts to strengthen the climate for research use;
  • Increasing production of policy-relevant systematic reviews;
  • Disseminating policy-relevant reviews to managers and policymakers; and
  • Making available policy-relevant reviews through a searchable online database.

This initiative is through a partnership with McMaster University’s Program in Policy Decision-Making.

Research-to-policy database

We have created a database of systematic reviews of governance, financial and delivery arrangements within health systems.  For more information or to search the database visit the Program in Policy Decision-Making website: www.researchtopolicy.ca/search/reviews.aspx.

A paper describing the methods and findings is currently under review. This work was funded by a grant from the Cochrane Collaboration’s Opportunities Fund (RFP20061101) and by a grant to the Canadian Cochrane Network and Centre from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (MSP 13278).
